Firstly, what are cookies and what do they do?
A cookie is a small text file created by your web browser at the request of the website you are using. It contains a small amount of data that the website can access while you are viewing it. The main aim of a cookie is to allow the functions of the website to operate correctly. For example, a cookie will be created when you add an item to your basket. In basic terms, this cookie is a simple list of the items that you have added. This stops the website from forgetting the items you want to buy.
Taken from :
Why do we use them?
They are essential to a smooth interface. Cookies are basically little files of settings and memory. They allow your personalized setting to be remembered every time you visit a website. For example, there will be a cookie that tells our site if you have visited it before. If you have it will remember your cookie settings. Other uses on our site are (but not limited to) tracking which pages you visit. For example, this information can then be used as a reminder in your basket of the things you looked at but did not add to your basket, or suggesting useful additions to your order.
What cookies do we use?
There are different types of cookies on our website;
- Essential Cookies
These cookies enable core functionality on our site such as security, verification of identity and network management. These cookies can’t be disabled.
- Marketing Cookies
These cookies are used to track advertising effectiveness to provide more relevant services and deliver better ads to suit your interests. We do not have any plans to target our customers with annoying ads, however, some content from ourselves or third parties may contain a small amount of advertising. We will always try to keep this to a minimum, however, we cannot be held responsible for the content of any advertising on our website by third parties, or anywhere an advert may link to over which we have no control.
- Functional Cookies
These cookies collect data to remember choices users make to improve and give a more personalized experience. This could include your choice of what currency to be displayed in our store or your language preference.
- Analytics Cookies
These cookies help us to understand how visitors interact with our website, discover errors, and provide better overall analytics. They help us by telling us which pages are visited most, and which are not. This allows us to see what content our visitors are interested in, and focus our efforts on these areas of our site.
- Third-Party Cookies
These cookies are sadly out of our control. They are placed by third parties with which our website is linked. For example, we have a social media bar at the top and bottom of each of our webpages. If you were to visit our Facebook page by clicking on the link, it would then be possible for Facebook to store cookies too. This goes for all third-party apps and features of our site. We have no control over these cookies, and cannot be held responsible for their contents or use. If you do not wish to receive these cookies, please de-nigh them if prompted, change your privacy settings in your browser and turn off third-party cookies, or discontinue use of our website.
